Author Guest Post: Jennifer Estep

Today, I am very pleased to welcome Jennifer Estep. Jennifer is the author of Touch of Frost,  the first of the Mythos Academy series.

My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy — a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest.

But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why—especially since I should have been the one who died. . .

Greetings and salutations! First of all, I want to thank Kate for having me on the blog today. Thanks so much, Kate!

So today, Kate asked me to give my picks for a This or That List. Here goes:

Rainy or Sunny day

Jennifer: Rainy day. I love cool, rainy days because they are perfect for taking naps and curling up with a good book. 😉

Cat or Dog

Jennifer: I’m definitely a dog person, although I like cats too.

Chocolate or Caramel

Jennifer: Chocolate, especially dark chocolate. Yum!

Physical Book or Ebook

Jennifer: I still like physical books the best. I just like curling up with a paper book at the end of the day.

Vampires or Faeries

Jennifer: Vampires

Sunset or Sunrise

Jennifer: Sunset

Ocean or Lake

Jennifer: Lake, because there are no sharks there!

Paranormal or Realistic fiction

Jennifer: Paranormal. I love reading (and writing) about magical worlds, creatures, and powers and following characters as they go on amazing adventures.

Zombies or Unicorns

Jennifer: Zombies, because they are usually slow and I could probably get away from them.

Coffee or Tea

Jennifer: Green tea with honey

What about you guys? Which ones of these would you pick and why?

Jennifer Estep writes the Mythos Academy young adult urban fantasy series for Kensington. The books focus on Gwen Frost, a 17-year-old Gypsy girl who has the gift of psychometry, or the ability to know an object’s history just by touching it. After a serious freak-out with her magic, Gwen is shipped off to Mythos Academy, a school for the descendants of ancient warriors like Spartans, Valkyries, Amazons, and more.

Touch of Frost, the first book in the series, was published on July 26. First Frost, a prequel e-story to the series, is available now as a 99-cent download. Kiss of Frost, the second book, will hit shelves on Nov. 29. Visit for excerpts and more information.

  4. Cute interview! I love “quick fire” rounds! For me, I’d pick:

    Rainy or Sunny day
I live in Florida, where we have both rain and sun simultaneously. I’m not sure I’m able to pick one out from the other any longer!

    Cat or Dog
While I love both, I’ve got a 14 lb feline fluffball at home who’s licking my elbow as I type this.

    Chocolate or Caramel
    Chocolate, no contesT!

    Physical Book or Ebook
Physical books for curling up with at home, but ebooks for when I travel since I can take hundreds with me for less than one pound of luggage weight.

    Vampires or Faeries
    Can’t we have both?!?!

    Sunset or Sunrise
Sunset. I love how the sky catches fire when the sun sets!

    Ocean or Lake
Ocean. I grew up on the Jersey shore, so the ocean’s in my blood!

    Paranormal or Realistic fiction
Paranormal. Reality’s boring. Show me what the *other* possibilities are!

    Zombies or Unicorns
Unicorns, because the can breath fiery rainbows (insert Erasure song here). 😉

    Coffee or Tea
    Green tea lattes!
