Gwen has a destiny to fulfill, but no one will tell her what it is.
She’s only recently learned that she is the Ruby, the final member of the time-traveling Circle of Twelve, and since then nothing has been going right. She suspects the founder of the Circle, Count Saint-German, is up to something nefarious, but nobody will believe her. And she’s just learned that her charming time-traveling partner, Gideon, has probably been using her all along.
This stunning conclusion picks up where Sapphire Blue left off, reaching new heights of intrigue and romance as Gwen finally uncovers the secrets of the time-traveling society and learns her fate.
From the very beginning, the Ruby Red trilogy has been a force to be reckoned with. With its twists and turns and heart-stopping romance, it has been a wild ride throughout, now with the final installment upon us, I was hoping everything would end with a bang!
Emerald Green picks up close to where Sapphire Blue ended. Gwen now knows that she is the Ruby, and that more than ever there is a lot resting on her shoulders. And from the mysterious Count to Paul and Lucy, every one wants something. But can Gwen trusts anyone, or is she on her own?
The two previous installments have all lead up to this moment. Gwen coming into her power… into her strength… her destiny. I have loved Gwen since book one and have been dying to see how everything would turn out for her. In Emerald Green, Gwen really stepped it up a bit. She has grown into a strong female character who seems to be able to tactical just about anything thrown at her. Except maybe Gideon.
As a long standing fan of the Gwen / Gideon romance, I have to say Emerald Green caught me off guard. I knew from the summary that it was going to be a bumpy road, but I could have never imagined how bumpy. Throughout the ups and downs, I cheered, I cursed, I cried, cursed some more. I loved the emotional turmoil and hated it in the same breath. In the end, it was just what this book needed.
Final Verdict:
I had a lot of ups and downs with Emerald Green. I adored the final character growth and the romance resolution. However, for some reason, Emerald Green felt off. It wasn't any thicker really than other installments; however, at times, it seemed like it was. With conflict seeming to be added just for conflict's sake, it was a tad frustrating to have all the bloat just to get to the heart of the book.
While Emerald Green may not be my favorite installment of the trilogy, it was just about perfect for the ending of this trilogy. It only took some patience to get there.

This sounds like a good series. I am sorry that the third book wasn't as strong for you. 🙁 I hate it when later books in series that I love get a bit uneven.
I still haven't read this series yet, but it seems like this one dragged a bit in parts. I'm glad the romance was satisfying though.
Thanks for the great review!
