What if there was a 13th zodiac sign?
You’re no longer Sagittarius, but Ophiuchus, the healer, the 13th sign.
Your personality has changed. So has your mom’s and your best friend’s.
What about the rest of the world?
What if you were the one who accidentally unlocked the 13th sign, causing this world-altering change—and infuriating the other 12 signs?
Jalen did it, and now she must use every ounce of her strength and cunning to send the signs back where they belong. Lives, including her own, depend on it.
Short & Sweet: Dealing with her ill grandmother and a father long disappeared, Jalen finds herself with a bogus horoscope but leaves with a book that calls to her. The 13th Sign is a quickly paced adventure where Jalen must find the 13th sign of the zodiac, while the others are trying to stop her. She is not like the others who have sought out the 13th sign and she soon finds an ally in one of the signs but will still have to face them all before she can return the world to how it used to be. For all the promise it had, The 13th Sign had a bit of a disconnect when I read it. I just felt it was a little too easy for an adventure story and not as fleshed out as it could have been. The characters flipped personalities in the story when the 13th zodiac was introduced, making it hard to get used to who they were before and after.
Final Verdict: The 13th Sign held a lot of promise, but did not deliver completely. I would recommend giving it a try but I never felt like I connected to the characters or story.
