Evie finally has the normal life she’s always longed for. But she’s shocked to discover that being ordinary can be . . . kind of boring. Just when Evie starts to long for her days at the International Paranormal Containment Agency, she’s given a chance to work for them again. Desperate for a break from all the normalcy, she agrees.

But as one disastrous mission leads to another, Evie starts to wonder if she made the right choice. And when Evie’s faerie ex-boyfriend Reth appears with devastating revelations about her past, she discovers that there’s a battle brewing between the faerie courts that could throw the whole supernatural world into chaos. The prize in question? Evie herself.

So much for normal.

Short and Sweet:
Paranormalcy, the first book in the series, was a break out hit for me. I fell in love with this world and was completely blown away. Supernaturally brings up back into this world nicely. Evie has gotten her greatest wish to have the normal life. But soon realizes that the grass is not always greener on the other side. And when given the chance to get back into the life that she fought so hard to get away from, she jumps at it.

Lend was surprisingly absent for most of the book. And we are introduced to Jack, who thankfully is NOT another love interest. Evie, however, has the most changes. Some I liked. Some I didn't. It was great watching her character evolve, but I really missed the Evie from Paranormalcy.

Final Verdict:
Supernaturally was a fabulous read… but it does suffer a little from being the second book in a series syndrome. There was just something missing that I really enjoyed in the first book. Bottom line, I was a little disappointed in Supernaturally. But still love the series, and am excited for the next one.

I really liked the first one too and just haven’t gotten to this one yet. Sorry to hear that it wasn’t what you hoped it would be. I’ve heard others say that too. I still want to read it but it’s not as a big of a priority as it was. Thanks for your review!

I haven’t read the first one but I’ve heard great things about it, about how fun and action-packed it is.

I’ve noticed that it takes a few books before an author really hits their stride with a new series. I bet the next book will be better.

  4. I know-I missed first book Evie too! This Evie lied…a lot and seemed to be missing the snarkiness I loved in Paranormalcy. Hopefully we’ll see her again in Endlessly.
