Ethan Wate, narrator, is haunted by dreams of an unreachable raven-haired beauty. When she moves into the small Southern town Blackwood mansion of her protective Uncle Macon, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her. As her 16th birthday nears, Lena must choose - or will the family curse choose for her?

There were no surprises in Gatlin County .. the middle of nowhere.
I couldn't have been more wrong.
There was a curse.
There was a girl.
And in the end, there was a grave.

I read the book version of Beautiful Creatures when it first came out. The graphic novel looked really appealing at the library, so I decided to pick it up and give it a try. Especially since I plan on watching the movie finally, I thought it would be a quick reminder of the story line and characters. In general, I love the storyline of this book as well as the fact that it is from the point of view of a boy chasing after a girl with supernatural powers.

Of all the characters, I was especially impressed with Ridley's character in this book, I loved the design and the way she made her way onto the page. As a graphic novel, I felt like it went from the novel to graphics easily and really gave a real feel to the story. The illustrations were awesome and I really enjoyed seeing the story I first fell in love with transformed into a graphic novel.

Final Verdict: I definitely recommend this as a solid graphic novel read that took the best of the novel and gave it a new media.
