Ten years have passed since the Great Tokyo Earthquake, and the people's memories of the disaster have faded. Ganta Igarashi, a middle school evacuee, has finally begun to live a normal life... that is, until the day 'Red Man' appears at his school and Ganta's fate is changed forever.

Deadman Wonderland is a new series that I cannot wait to read more.  Set in Tokyo, Ganta is just your normal middle school student until a red man appears and kills everyone in his class. He is accused of mass murder, put on death row and sent to Deadman Wonderland, a prison that also acts as a television show. Ganta must survive by following the rules, participating in deadly games and finding allies.

I love dangerous horrible manga I guess, because this is exactly that. Lots of death, violence, and paranormal phenomenon. I loved the graphics and the different angles the manga took. It’s definitely gorey and gross at times, but expertly drawn! I absolutely ate up every single page and wanted more when I was done.

A great beginning to a new manga series filled with horror and dystopian elements.
