Boy, oh, boy! This manga seems to be getting better and better with each installment.
Before we go any further, I have a confession to make. The Outer Sailor Guardians have never been my favorite. Actually, I am not even 100% sure I have ever completely read or watched their adventures. Sure, I know the overall plot line, but for some reason, I never cared for them the way that I did the Inner Sailor Scouts. But my opinion may be changing a bit.
Sailor Moon, Volume 6 was a bit different than previous volumes. By now, I had gotten use to the big, bad enemy taking center point while the character development would ease its way in any way that it could. However, this installment switches things up with Haruka and Michiru being the center focus.
With the renewal editions, I was hoping that we would get to see the relationship between Haruka and Michiru as it should be. Not censored. Not dumbed down. Two adults, regardless of gender, that have an amazing relationship. And that is exactly what I got.
Sailor Moon, Volume 6 was really surprising in a lot of ways. I still am not sure where I stand in terms of loving vs. disliking the Outer Sailor Guardians. But I know that in this volume they definitely grew on me more than I expected. Hopefully, the next installment will further that growth.
