more personally…

Life: October for some reason meant a lot of dentist work and it was not fun, but it meant some extra time off and some extra reading time. Found out I had some infections in two teeth and had to get that taken care of right away, which also explained my increase in headaches most likely. I also celebrated my 10 year wedding anniversary with my husband and made it through Halloween working at a school (always crazy!).

Reading: I read 31 books total! Wow pretty epic! I started reading a lot for the CYBILs graphic novel panels so obviously most of my books are graphic novels, but I managed a lot of great spooky books as well!

Looking Forward: I will be hitting the graphic novels harder the next two months so I probably won’t see a drop in numbers for books but probably less in actual books and more in graphic novels. I’m excited to get through my TBR for the CYBILs and excited for our extra days off for Thanksgiving. I’m feeling a little weird about Christmas shopping and find that I’m not interested in Xmas book swaps this year.. usually I sign up for 5 of them and I’ve not signed up for any. Just not feeling the Christmas season yet…

Life: October was a busy month, I finally started to get into the routine of my new job and I think I am at the point to where I have my schedule down and can finally juggle all of my other things with the job. I love having a set schedule and being able to actually live my life without worrying about work when I am not there. I also did a bit of preptoctober to get ready for NaNoWriMo and I must have done a great job cause it is really going well. I had a fun time with my friends at our big overnight ritual for Samhain and I am very thankful for all the amazing things I have going on in my life.

Reading: I managed to read 18 books in October. I found a new favorite series that perfectly fit into the spooky season and it is amazing. (spoilers its Skulduggery Pleasant)

  15. Changless by Gail Carriger
  16. My Lady’s Choosing by Kitty Curran and Larissa Zageris
  17. The Secret Hour by Scott Westerfeld
  18. A Darkness Strange and Lovely  by Susan Dennard

Looking Forward: I should be getting converted at work very soon so I won’t be a temp anymore and I will start receiving all the wonderful benefits like health insurance and I am so ready for that. Also I have Thanksgiving and Black Friday off and I cannot wait for that long weekend. I am also looking forward to finishing the first draft of my fantasy book that I am working on for NaNoWriMo, it is going very well so far I am already 18,406 words in which is ahead of schedule. I think November is just going to be a really great creative month.
