Book View: This Wicked Game

Short & Sweet: This Wicked Game is a standalone novel about Claire, whose family runs a voodoo shop and one day while she is there, a mysterious woman orders an item that has the potential to kill. Suddenly, the Guild is involved and Claire decides to run her own investigation with her secret boyfriend Xander. I’ve always loved Zink’s books, so it was nice to see this one coming out and I really enjoyed reading this one. A nice change from usual Young Adult, This Wicked Game already has the protagonist in a relationship, one she has hidden because she […]

Book Review: A Temptation of Angels

I loved Zink's previous series because of so many, many reasons. And there was plenty to look forward to with A Temptation of Angels.   Michelle Zink has a distinctive writing style. One that I fell in love with while reading her The Prophecy of the Sisters series. And it has definitely evolved with A Temptation of Angels. It was obvious to me for the beginning that Zink was trying to do something completely different from her previous series here. And it worked out nicely.   A Temptation of Angels begins with a startling revelation. Helen Cartwright, an average sixteen […]

Book View: Circle of Fire

Short and Sweet: The Prophecy of the Sisters series has long been a favorite of mine. Zink's incredible writing making the pages fly by. The history. The sibling rivalry. All of it, just amazing. The final book of the series, Circle of Fire, follows in this great tradition. Although it had been a while since I had read the last book, Zink quickly got me back on track. It was finally time to find out how the Prophecy would end. Would it be happily ever after or the end of the world? I was on the edge of my seat, […]

Book Review: Guardian of the Gate

It's not often you can find a plot so dark and eerie and match it with such an innocent and naive character that really just wants to do the right thing. The way that Michelle writes you just dive right back into the world of Prophecy of the Sisters and she twists it darker and deeper into the plot. I felt so involved by the end of the novel in the struggle between Lia and her darker twin Alice that I did not want it to end. I read this around the same time as my sister-in-law and she texted […]

Book Review: Guardian of the Gate

The second novel in the Prophecy of the Sisters series is everything and more than what I was hoping. The magic that Zink created in her first novel is again presented in Guardian of the Gate. In this installment, Lia is on a journey. She must find that which has been lost in order to fulfill her place in the Prophecy. However, along the way, friendships and relationships are tested as Lia learns that the only true person that she may be able to trust is herself. Like the previous novel in the series, Guardian of the Gate completely […]

Book Review: Prophecy of the Sisters

Her sister suddenly becomes mean and distant… and there is this talk of a Prophecy.
