Manga Review: Dramacon Volume 3

Plot: I have to say, I love the idea of the series set a year apart and reuniting the two starcrossed lovers at an animecon. This time, the story seemed less about Christie and more about Bethany. Christie finally has Matt's full attention, even if it means they are bickering on and off throughout the book. Bethany has a lot on her plate, having her mother planning to meet her during the con along with her aunt. Her mother doesn't approve of artwork for a career and their meeting is a bit of a mess, one that will delve deeper […]

Manga Review: Dramacon vol. 2

Plot: At the second anime convention, Christie is ready to face Matt. She never had the nerve to call him, so this is the first time she will see him since last year. Only problem is, he has a girlfriend with him and Christie isn’t sure what to do. Beyond that, her new artist is more down to earth and in a family where her artwork isn’t supported. When she gets the chance to start working early, she’s not sure she can let her own mother down. Life as a manga artist isn’t easy, as shown by the many artists […]

Manga Review: Dramacon vol. 1

Plot: I love manga about manga lately. I highly suggest Bakuman to those who enjoy Dramacon. This one is about a girl Christie who goes to a con with her boyfriend and falls for a handsome older guy who only has one eye. Her boyfriend is a jerk and they end up in some iffy situations in which this mysterious guy rescues her time and again. The con ends and there’s no resolution between the two, but there’s always next year. I couldn’t seem to put down this book for long the plot really pulled me in. Characters: I loved […]

Manga Review: Sailor Moon Volume 6

* Review and Summary may contain spoilers from previous books of the series. Read at your own risk * Plot: Boy, oh, boy! This manga seems to be getting better and better with each installment. Before we go any further, I have a confession to make. The Outer Sailor Guardians have never been my favorite. Actually, I am not even 100% sure I have ever completely read or watched their adventures. Sure, I know the overall plot line, but for some reason, I never cared for them the way that I did the Inner Sailor Scouts. But my opinion may […]

Manga Review: The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 3

* Review and Summary may contain spoilers from previous books of the series. Read at your own risk * Plot: After the crazy amount action of the first two volumes of The Earl and the Fairy, my guess before reading the third volume would be that this installment would take things a bit slower. Have a small investigation. Maybe get to know the characters better. Nothing too over the top for this installment. I was wrong. The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 3 brings readers to London. Lydia is now in Edgar’s employ as his personal Fairy Doctor. Edgar, being […]

Manga Review: The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 2

* Review and Summary may contain spoilers from previous books of the series. Read at your own risk * Plot: In the second volume of The Earl and the Fairy, the plot has thickened. It is boiling over as readers discover the truth, or maybe it is a partial truth (hey, it’s Edgar, so you never know), about Edgar, Raven and Ermine. About their horrific past and the tribulations that they had to overcome. But something just isn’t right. Who is Prince that they all keep referring to? As our characters fight to solve the riddle surround the Merrow Star, newly […]

Manga Review: The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 1

Plot: In the 19th century, people had some lingering fancy regarding the fairy realm. Of course, these same people had their doubts. If you cannot see, hear, or touch something, then it could not possibly exist… could it? For Lydia Carlton, the fairy realm is not fantasy. As a fairy doctor, she specializes in this realm and helping its inhabitants. The Earl and the Fairy, Volume 1 opens on quite a shocking note. Torture, death threats, murder. All for a stone, a jewel, said to have belonged to a man long dead. But the Merrow Star is no ordinary jewel. […]

Read at your own risk* After three installments, the married life of Princess Nakaba and Prince Caesar is beginning to settle down.
