Not having read the first book, Nerd Camp 2.0 was a complete and wonderful story, with enough background given at the beginning of the book to make reading it enjoyable. When a rash of wild fires strike, they are worried their summer camp may be canceled. Neither are cancelled, but they are going to be sharing the same campground, which makes both boys nervous. Book Review: The True Blue ..

Book Review: The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp

I have to say, The True Blue Scouts of Sugar Man Swamp is one of the most enjoyable books I've read for a couple of different reasons. I love the diverse characters, ranging from a pair of raccoon brothers, to a very tall 12 year old boy with a heavy weight on his shoulders and even to the alligator wrestling woman who wants to build over the swamp. The chapters are short and switch points of view often and make for an easy read and giving you plenty of places to pause when reading.  Most of all I love the […]

Paris confides that he won a wager for her love, but she cannot help herself and leaves both her husband and daughter behind to be with him. Which is how the Trojan War begins. Cassandra tries her best to hate Helen, who she has forseen to ruin their lives and the reason behind […]

Book View: Seven Daughters and Seven Sons

Short & Sweet: I cracked this book open and was easily taken into the story. Buran is one of seven daughters and her father's business is not doing well, meaning it will be hard for any of them to find suitable husbands. She has a mind for business and begs her father to let her travel to a far away city disguised as a boy to try and make their fortune. He relents and she ends up as a servant of a greedy merchant who quickly sees her wit for what it is and teaches her along the way to […]

Book View: The Shadow Thiev..

Book View: The Shadow Thieves

Short & Sweet: A great series that involves Greek mythology that I may point my Percy Jackson fans to at school. I really like middle grade novels that have both a boy and girl main character, as I think it appeals to a wider audience. I definitely enjoyed this first novel in a series that I will be reading more of soon. Full of courage, these two tweens must overcome an evil demi-god and his army of shadows created from their blood. However will they win? Final Verdict: Those who enjoy epic fantasy, mythology and quest based plots, this is the […]
