Book Review: Emerald Green

Book Review: Emerald Green

From the very beginning, the Ruby Red trilogy has been a force to be reckoned with. With its twists and turns and heart-stopping romance, it has been a wild ride throughout, now with the final installment upon us, I was hoping everything would end with a bang! Emerald Green picks up close to where Sapphire Blue ended. Gwen now knows that she is the Ruby, and that more than ever there is a lot resting on her shoulders. And from the mysterious Count to Paul and Lucy, every one wants something. But can Gwen trusts anyone, or is she on […]

Book Review: Neptune’s Tears

I love books that surprise you. That take what you think you know and show you that it isn't always the big picture, or show that you are completely wrong about what you thought you knew the whole time. Neptune's Tears is one of those types of reads. Part science fiction. Part romance. And a whole lots of other bits and pieces mixed in. The story starts in the year 2218. Zee, our main character, is an up and coming empath. A person who connects with others to find the source of their pain, and assists with getting a person […]

Double Monster Review: Siege and Storm

2013 sequels and I are having a bit of a row at the moment… again. Prior to starting Siege and Storm, I picked up not one, not even two, but three sequels before settling in with Siege and Storm. Each and every one of the them presenting me with the same issue: I had no freaking clue what was going on. Oh, I am sure they are great books, but it will be a while till I get to them cause I probably will need to read the first book again. Moving on. Siege and Storm, by far, is one […]

Double Monster Review: Sapphire Blue

Reviews: Ruby Red   * Review and Summary may contain spoilers from previous books of the series. Read at your own risk *     Ruby Red first introduced reader to Gwen and the Circle of Twelve. The Twelve’s talent? Time travel. Words cannot describe how much I adore this series. I thought I loved Ruby Red. But Sapphire Blue blows the first book out of the water. With the second book in the series, the story really starts to unfold, questions begin to find their answers. Secrets are revealed. But when nothing is as it seems, who can be trusted? […]

Book View: The Wager

Book View: The Wager

Short & Sweet: I have to say, I'm a big fan of Napoli's writing and this book did not let me down in that aspect. I loved the tale of a man who once had everything becomes reduced to nothing and even makes a deal with the devil to get back his riches. Along the path though he finds out what true friendship is and how beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I love the lesson learned within this novel and how it ended.   Final Verdict: I highly suggest this one for those who like historically set […]

Double Monster Review: Shadow and Bone

I love books that come out of nowhere and completely sweep me off my feet. Shadow and Bone is exactly that type of read. You may not be able to tell it from the blurb, but Shadow and Bone is pure epicness. Plain and simple. It is going to be hard to accurately give my feelings on this one because I want to gush so much.   Alina Starkov's world has been taken over by the Shadow Fold. A mysterious, dark mass which divides the kingdom into two separate pieces. The Shadow Fold is an area where few dare to enter, and […]

Book Review: Melody Burning

Book Review: Melody Burning

Before opening this book, I really had no clue what it was going to be about. I just knew it had a nice shiny cover that made me think maybe paranormal, maybe not. You never know nowadays. The beginning of the book sucked me right in. A murder, a boy hiding and then back to modern times. Then the book took off from Melody's point of view, a girl who is becoming a singing sensation and can't seem to handle the pressure. Then, she meets the phantom in her wall – Beresford. A boy who appears from nowhere, yet she […]

Book Review: The Fox Inheritance

Since I read The Adoration of Jenna Fox a few years ago, I have been waiting for some kind of sequel or companion novel. I have been feeling for a long time that I needed to get back into this world. And FINALLY, Pearson gave me my wish.   The Fox Inheritance was exactly what I had been waiting for. Pearson picks up where the previous left off. Writing with a style that is completly her own. The concept. The characters. The intrigue and twists. All of it were exactly what I was hoping it would be. Once I started […]
