Book Review: Future Imperfect

Why I read this: The plot seemed intriguing and I'm always looking for new debut authors to read. 🙂 Plot: This book takes you on a wild ride. From Ade's point of view, his life is just about to finally begin on a certain day. The day he meets the girl he dreamed of two years ago. This book takes you around twists and turns and introduces a type of power that is addictive and harmful, but serves a purpose. Definitely a book that is left a little open for maybe more to come, but wrapped up enough that it […]

Book Review: Infinite Days

Book Review: Infinite Days

Never before have I read a novel like Infinite Days. Quite simply, this novel sparkles. Lenah has lived for over 500 years and is thought to be one of the most powerful vampires in existence. Despite her power, Lenah is just not satisfied. She longs to be human again. To feel the touch of another… to walk in the sunlight without fear… to feel more than just the constant numbness. Infinite Days is a beautiful debut novel that is breathtaking in both its simplicity and originality. Add in the highly emotional factor and I was completely sold. Lenah is […]

Book View: Evermore

Book View: Evermore

Short & Sweet: Evermore was a reread for me and I have to say I didn't like it quite as much as the first time. I think I am getting annoyed with the hot/cold relationships found in paranormal YA. I do like the other aspects – the ghost of a dead sister, the history between Ever and Damen. The plot is a little based on the romance, jealous ex-girlfriend and really made me lose interest quickly. The audio was well-done, but I just didn't love it as much as I had when I read it a year or so ago. […]

Book Review: My Ultimate Si..

Book Review: My Ultimate Sister Disaster

My Ultimate Sister Disaster completely took me by surprise. With its funny situations and heartfelt family issues, I was 100% emotionally invested in this novel. Franny is the black sheep, so to speak, of her family. Her mother, father, and even older sister pretty much have a one track mind… the career comes first. So when Zooey hurts her leg, she begins to see life in a whole new way. My Ultimate Sister Disaster is really as much about Zooey as it is about Franny. And while I adored each character, I strangely found myself gravitating more towards Zooey. After […]

Book Review: Infinite Days

At the beginning of Infinite Days, Lenah has just become human again after 500 years of being a vampire. Now, in this world, they are no NICE vampires. Lenah was sick of not feeling and craved to have her humanity back before she went insane. The vampire that changed her long ago sacrifices himself to give her back her humanity. She finds herself at a private school having to relearn what it is like to be a 16 year old girl again – to find friendship, love and happiness. But, she left a clan of powerful vampires behind and they […]

Book Review: 13 to Life

Book Review: 13 to Life

13 to Life is an interesting start to what could possibly be an amazing werewolf series. The novel kicks off really nicely by letting the reader get to know Jess. Her background, family, etc. She is a great character who only gets better once Pietr is introduced. Pietr and Jess have amazing chemistry. The kinda of chemistry that I love to find in Young Adult novels. It is honest, raw, and took time to build. Yes, there is that almost immediate spark. But it does not suddenly jump from spark to "I love you and cannot live without you." It […]
