Entering into the Crown of Midnight, I had some baggage. The first installment, Throne of Glass, was an enjoyable read, but the flaws from book one stuck with me throughout most of the beginning of the sequel. I often found myself wondered, 'would this sequel again make promises that it could not keep?' Would I again be looking back at the read thinking 'darn, again this one had a lot of potiental but it never found the stride it needed?' The answer to those questions is not easily answered.
