The Monster Report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Read this Week:

It was very much a week taken over by Wicca for me, which was actually quite nice. I have just been so stressed lately with the house hunting and the new job so  have really just been picking up whatever I feel like. (I have also been playing a ridiculous amount of Stardew Valley) Bloom into You is getting so good and I am excited to read the next volume and see where our MCs are going next. I gave it a 4/5. ReadbyZoe read Fox in Socks in her latest 24 hour reading vlog so of course I was going to count it as read I gave it a 5/5, mainly because Zoe’s reading of it is great.

Books added to TBR:

The Mermaid Kill the Farm Boy (The Tales of Pell, #1) The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air, #2)

Gris Grimly's Tales from the Brothers Grimm Everafter: From the Pages of Fables (2016-2017) Vol. 1: The Pandora ProtocolWinter Glass

Read this Week:

Dragon Pearl American Gods (American Gods, #1)

Dragon Pearl was such a cool mix of ghosts and sci-fi adventure – definitely a book I will be adding to my school library! I also really enjoyed American Gods and even started the TV show, which is a bit different already with some of the characters and how I pictured them. It was a great audiobook if anyone is looking for a long one to keep themselves entertained!

Currently Reading:

The Illustrated Fairytale Princess Collection Empire of Night (Age of Legends, #2)

  1. Good luck with the house hunting! That, combined with new job, can be very daunting. I completely agree on Dragon Pearl — I hope it’s true that there’s a sequel. I hope you enjoy The Wicked King. I’m kicking myself for reading it last month, though, because now I have to wait for book #3. I’ll have to see if we have access to the Bloom Into You series, here locally. Thanks for all the shares and my apologies for making it around to everyone’s #imwayr blogs so late!
