Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

So Red, White and Royal Blue is now one of my all time favorite books, please read it and scream about it with me, it deserves all the love and stars. Mockingjay was a very satisfying ending to the Hunger Games and I am glad that I gave these books a chance cause I really thought I wouldn’t like them. I gave it 4/5. Queens of Innis Lear was a long book and it definitely dragged in places but the settings and the magic system was so interesting and there are some extremely morally grey characters that you are never sure what to feel about them. I gave it a 3.75/5. I am not even gonna go into the manga because it is all extremely weird and none of you would probably like them.

Read this Week:
Wow. I did an awesome job reading this week. I was wrapping up books for Book Battle and splurged on some manga at the library to get a few more points. Empire of Night was an awesome sequel and amazing on audio, I’m sad the third book isn’t available on audio at my library and I may look into an audible credit for it if it exists. I loved the illustrated Fairy Tale book – manga style – the old tales with some beautiful images inside. Nightmares was an awesome audiobook narrated by Jason Segel actor and author – it was really enjoyable and a bit spooky! Juni Taisen was a fun battle royale manga – zodiacs battling to the death with crazy superpowers. Edenszero was kind of a weird space book… Fun but weird. Dr. Stone I am really enjoying as I started the second book and it’s 3,700 years in the future after everyone has been stuck in stone and then two boys awake and well it’s a bit insane but quite interesting so far.
This week at The Book Monsters, we…
That is all for us this week. So until next week, stay scary Monsters.
