Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?
It was actually a pretty decent reading week, which is surprising considering I worked 40 hours this past week. Anyways Last Namsara was really good, I love the relationship our main character starts building with the dragons and her character development is top notch. I gave it 4/5. The Isle of the Lost was incredible, I really have a thing for books that follow the children of the villains of fairy-tales for some reason. I also really liked the subtle hints towards shipping things 😉 I can’t wait to watch the movies, I gave it 4/5. Lost Soul, Be at Peace was really trippy, like if you read it definitely read the author’s note afterwards because wow, it is a lot but I also really enjoyed it. This also got 4/5.
Currently Reading: Nada because I got a ukulele for my birthday and I haven’t been able to put it down.
Books added to TBR:
I received this one from Scholastic and that cover is so darn creepy.
Read this Week:
Well, I finished two trilogies on audiobook this week. Ensnared was epic and romantic and crazy wonderland drama. The Last Star was dramatic end of times/aliens and both I really enjoyed. Finding Orion was an odd and wonderful read about reconnecting with family and finding who you are. Last of Her Name was an epic space adventure about a missing princess and the power she holds. I really enjoyed it!
This week at The Book Monsters, we…
That is all for us this week. So until next week, stay scary Monsters.
