The Monster Report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Books added to TBR: None

Read this Week:

I finally read the third book in the Magisterium series and all I will say is these books always put me through the ringer by the end. I gave it 4/5 stars.

Currently Reading:

Books added to TBR:

Ink (Skin Books, #1) Spark (Skin Books, #2)

Read this Week:

The Strangers (Greystone Secrets, #1) Ever After (The Hollows, #11) Girl Town Zita the Spacegirl (Zita the Spacegirl Series) Wires and Nerve: Volume 1

I really enjoyed The Strangers, a new middle grade mystery with paranormal elements. Looking forward to more in this series! Ever After had a lot of craziness like usual for Rachel and I love where her and Trent’s relationship are going. Can’t wait to start the next book. Girl Town was kind of weird – different short graphic stories (I think) and the last one had a cliffhanger. Zita the Spacegirl and Wires and Nerve were rereads – revisiting some graphic novels I’ve enjoyed!

Wicked Saints (Something Dark and Holy, #1)

I officially gave up after 60 pages. No character or plot buy in for me in this one…

Currently Reading:

A Question of Holmes (Charlotte Holmes #4)

This week at The Book Monsters, we…

Slow week for us!

That is all for us this week. So until next week, stay scary Monsters.

Avid reader and gamer. Favorite thing in the entire world is Harry Potter. I read to escape that pesky thing we call reality.

  1. I was happy to see The Strangers was going to be a series. I’ve had book #1 on my list since I first heard about it, but now I’m especially excited to read it. Thanks for all these wonderful shares and I hope you have a wonderful reading week!
