The Monster Report

report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

I really loved George, it was such an amazing book. I think if it was required reading in 7th grade for everyone we would be bringing up much more open-minded and kind-hearted children. I gave it 4.5/5. Everything Leads to You was fantastic and I am honestly mad that I owned it for so long without reading it. The writing style is beautiful and the way the romance builds is so much fun to read. I gave this 5/5.

Read this Week:

The Undead Pool (The Hollows, #12) The Shack Annie on My Mind Blanca & Roja

I whipped through three audiobooks this week while I was doing inventory, packing, weeding and trying to wrap up my school library. I’m going to put in three more days this week to finish up and then I can be off for the summer! I am loving the Hollows series by Kim Harrison and we finally see a new/old love interest spark in The Undead Pool – I also liked the plot of this one – the vampires trying to rebel and the chaos that ensues. The Shack was not what I was expecting and I don’t like religious books so I wasn’t fond of this one. Annie on My Mind is an old LGBT book and I really enjoyed it more than I thought I would. I loved the authors note at the end as well! Blanca and Roja had a nice mix of fairy tales with relationships and some sexual questioning which was really well done.
