The Monster Report

report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Books added to TBR:

I actually won a giveaway for Running with Lions.

Read this Week:

Girls of Paper and Fire was amazing, it was everything I could have wanted in a fantasy not to mention the amazing sapphic romance it has. I gave it 5/5. Descendant was a huge dissapointment for me. I did a whole review for it on here so if you are curious you can read it, I gave it 2/5. Running with Lions was amazing, I kept saying I would stop reading after one more chapter but I just kept going because it was so good. 5/5

Books added to TBR:

The Dragon's Curse (Transference, #2) Good Guys

Read this Week:

Wild Beauty Black Panther: The Young Prince (Marvel Black Panther) My Life Next Door Trigger Warning: Short Fictions and Disturbances

Wild Beauty was a bit of a slow read – very flowery literally and figuratively and I enjoyed it but it took me a while to get through. The other three books I read are all audiobooks. Black Panther The Young Prince was a fun fast paced book that I’d consider to putting in my elementary school for my 4th and 5th graders. My Life Next Door was a surprisingly good read about relationships, politics, and moral ethics. Trigger Warning was several short stories by Gaiman, I especially enjoyed the one at the end of the book that relates to American Gods, which I just recently read. I also love that Gaiman narrates his own books. I could listen to him all day.

Currently Reading:

The Midnight Queen (Noctis Magicae, #1) Entangled
