The Monster Report

report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Read this Week:

Lifelike was really good but that ending was insane the plot was incredible. I had in my mind what it was going to be which was wrong but I was kinda on the right track so that was super satisfying. I gave it a 4.5/5. I then read the new stories in Ghosts of the Shadow Market and wow, I am thinking that this might be one of the best villains that Cassandra Clare had ever created. I gave it 5/5. Wicked Fox was cool but really weird, sometimes it seemed to lose it’s own train of thought and the pacing felt a little off in places. I did still really enjoy it though because the story was unique and I really enjoyed the characters. 4/5. And yes I did read After because Seth’s sister wants to go see the movie and I kinda had to take one for the team. It was not as bad as fifty shades let’s put it that way. 2/5.

Read this Week:

All Four Stars Tree of Dreams LIFEL1K3 Catwoman: Soulstealer (DC Icons series)

Thunderhead (Arc of a Scythe, #2) The Mermaid Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale

All Four Stars was a really cute audiobook about a girl who just wanted to cook and whose parents were against it. Tree of Dreams was a beautiful mix of magic, chocolate and protecting nature. Lifelik3 was an amazing rollercoaster of a read – set in the future with robots and quite a twisty ending. Catwoman Soulstealer I listened to on audio and really enjoyed it – especially since it had a girl team up with Harley and Poison Ivy. Thunderhead was so good… I really enjoyed the first book and I cannot wait to see where they go plot wise in the next book cause some crazy stuff happened right at the end. The Mermaid was a beautifully told fairy tale with really the perfect ending, it made my heart soar. Under the Moon: A Catwoman Tale was a great graphic novel and I’m hoping for more… loved the illustrations and story line.

Batman: Nightwalker (DC Icons, #2) Shades of Magic Vol. 1: The Steel Prince (Shades of Magic - The Steel Prince)
