The Monster Report

report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Books added to TBR:

Read this Week:

The Last Wish was really good and I loved getting the backstory on Geralt’s and Yennfer’s story cause that always interested me when playing the game. I gave it a 4/5. Nevernight was of course a reread in preparation for Darkdawn. it got a 5/5 again. The Devouring Gray was different than what I was expecting but I really enjoyed it, it had a very atmospheric and creepy vibe that I really appreciated. I felt like all the characters were very well developed and I am excited for the sequel. 4/5.

Books added to TBR:

There Will Come a Darkness (The Age of Darkness, #1)

Read this Week:

She Is Not Invisible Fellside Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda The Only Pirate at the Party

She is Not Invisible was a really good mystery with a main character who is blind and relies on her little brother to help solve the disappearance of her father. I really enjoyed it! Fellside was an odd read… a bit of magic mixed with crime and punishment… I was hoping for a bit more to be honest. Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda was a fun and sweet read with lots of humor. The Only Pirate at the Party is a great autobiography about violinist Lindsey Sterling and I really loved the audio since she narrates it herself.

Currently Reading:

There Will Come a Darkness (The Age of Darkness, #1) And I Darken (The Conqueror's Saga, #1) Shadowblack (Spellslinger #2)
