The Monster Report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Books added to TBR: None

Read this Week:

I had so much going on this week, so the reading was a bit on the light side, also The Bronze Horseman is a billion pages long but it was insanely good. I gave it 4/5. I read Infinity because it is a series that my husband really loves and I am always curious about the books he likes because he is not that big of a reader. I gave it 3.5/5

Currently Reading:

Books added to TBR:

Slayer (Slayer, #1) Snow, Glass, Apples A Perilous Journey of Danger and Mayhem #2: The Treacherous Seas

Read this Week:

Front Desk You Go First Ghost (Track, #1) Patina

Blackbird, Vol. 1 Sunny (Track, #3) Lu (Track, #4)

I mostly listened to audiobooks this week – short middle grade ones. I loved them all from Front Desk, which was such a great story from the point of view of a Chinese immigrant girl who helped her parents run a motel – to You Go First – a book about long distance friendship and scrabble and life issues – to the Track series (Ghost, Patina, Sunny, and Lu) by Jason Reynolds which is about dealing with your emotions and doing the right thing even when it’s hard. Blackbird was the only graphic novel I read this week even though I have a ton on my stack I just wasn’t in the mood, but I’ll be reading a ton soon! I really enjoyed it though – kinda of magical/mystical theme.

Currently Reading:

Amal Unbound The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air, #3)

This week at The Book Monsters, we…

  1. I enjoyed all the the middle grade books in this report, except the graphic novel Blackbird — I just haven’t gotten to that one, yet. In fact, I somehow ended up with two copies of Front Desk. LOL And I really hope you enjoy The Queen of Nothing. I’m feeling the need to start the series all over, now that it’s over. Thanks for all the shares!
