The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? The Hand on the Wall was a pretty satisfying conclusion to the series but I would have to say that it is my least favorite in the series. I feel like it dragged in places and things could have been better executed but for the most part I enjoyed this book and I love that I know how did all the murders. I gave it 3.5/5. This Adventure Ends is without a doubt now one of my very favorite books in the whole wide world. 5/5. Jack of Hearts was so much fun with some darker themes running throughout and I loved how much Jack came off the page. I really felt like he was sitting next to me telling me this story himself, 4.5/5. All Eyes on Us was an insane ride and there was a ton of twist and turns to it. I really liked the the way the stories began to merge into on another and how the two main people were able to find common ground even though they were incredibly different. I gave it 4/5. We Were Liars really pissed me off, I was enjoying the book but well lets just say that it didn’t turn out how I wanted it to so I gave it a 3/5. It seems to be a very polarizing book and I can totally understand why. The Poet X was amazing, I actually sat in the library and somehow managed to read over 100 pages of it without realizing it because it is that addictive. I really enjoyed the story and the writing was of course beautiful, I gave it 4/5.

Read this Week:
I really enjoyed the March graphic novels – a great insight into the times of the Civil Rights Movement. Stepsister was a fun twisted tale about the after the happily ever after and I really enjoyed it on audio. Other Words from Home was brilliant and beautiful on audiobook – a tale about immigration and perceptions of Muslims in the United States. Dog Man had a lot more to it than I expected – some social issues and of course lots of humor. Revisiting Pride and Prejudice as a manga was fun and interesting and case all my faves in a different light. Giant Days is always a delight and one of my fave graphic novels to visit. Invisible Kingdom was an interesting graphic novel – science fiction with quite a lot of religion mixed in. A Time to Dance is a novel in verse about a girl who has to relearn to dance with a prosthetic leg and it’s a beautiful story. Piper is a graphic novel retelling of the Pied Piper and I really enjoyed it. Everything Leads To You I read in a day when I was out sick and I really enjoyed it! A definite new favorite of mine! Lenore was so weird and a flash from the past from when I liked weird creepy things… Queenslayer was amazing and I cannot wait to read the next book! Captain Marvel v. 2 was fun and crazy. A Heart so Fierce and Broken took a odd turn and wow, I love it and cannot wait for the next book! In the Afterlight was good – I listened to the audio and it was nice to finish off the series. An Enchantment of Ravens was a so-so read for me – sort of a typical fae romance that puts them in danger type story. Not as good as her new book.
This week at The Book Monsters, we…
