The Monster Report

report

Welcome to another edition of the Monster Report. The Monster Report explores the book happenings of Jessica and Kristen. Whether it be what we got in our mailboxes, what books we are currently hiding in, or fun stuff to look forward to this week at The Book Monsters, you can find it here. The Monster Report is inspired by Alea‘s This Week in Books, Tynga’s Stacking the Shelves, and Kathryn at the Book Date‘s It’s Monday, What are you Reading? Also, Teach Mentor Texts and Unleashing Readers also host a kidlit version of It’s Monday, What are you Reading?

Books added to TBR:

Okay so I really missed going to the bookstore so I did a massive bookoutlet book haul. A lot of these books are ones that I have read before but I borrowed them from the library and I wanted to own them.

Read this Week:

You Know Me Well is one of the best books that I have ever read. I was extremely emotional the entire time because I related so much to our main characters and their struggles. I loved that this was set during Pride week and the way everything was described it felt like I was right there with everyone. 5/5 Loki read so quick, I read it all in one sitting. I loved that Loki was super morally gray and we never knew what was going to happen next. I would definitely recommend this to any marvel fan. 4/5

Read this Week:

On Little Wings The Smell of Other People's Houses All the Stars and Teeth (All the Stars and Teeth, #1)

Well, I was going to read a lot more this week… but alas. I did not. On Little Wings made me cry and was a fantastic read. It’s about summer and family secrets. The Smell of Other People’s Houses is about Alaska and family problems and also made me cry and is a fantastic audiobook. All the Stars and Teeth is a fantastic fantasy with a pirate, a mermaid and a girl with some crazy soul magic. They just want to save a kingdom. Pretty epic stuff happens. All in all I didn’t read a lot but I read quality books. 🙂

Currently Reading:

Adaptation Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle, #1) The Diary of a Young Girl
