Top Ten Things I Like/Dislike When It Comes To Romances In Books

Dislike

oneInsta-Love!! Enough said.

twoDouchebag dudes. Everyone can see it. The chick even sees, but it is okay… because LUV.

threeI know we just met, but wow, look at those eyes / smile / killer body / insert other body part! I am SOOO in love!

fourI am a helpless female. I do stupid things. Oh, look this guy just saved me from my own stupidity. We are in love.

fiveI am a moody guy. Life means nothing. I am a happy go-lucky chick. Everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Girl: I spy moody guy. I know I can fix him and ALL this problems.

Guy: Oh, this chick is like sunlight. All my problems are now better cause of her.

Girl and Guy: Sure, we know next to nothing about each other. But we complete each other. We are in love.

Like

oneGuy and Girl having more than two sentences together before declaring undying love. Shocker!

twoPlayful banter.

threeLove triangles…when they are done right. Yes, it is possible.

fourCouple overcoming past mistakes to be together. Guy / Girl did something in the past to screw up the relationship, but in the end, it all gets worked out. When done right, it can be magic.

fiveEvolving romance. Friends / Frenemies that, over time and with well-done development, bloom into something more.

What’s on your list?

Wonderful list! I also HATE HATE HATE insta-love. So not realistic. I agree in loving love triangles, and playful banter is the best! There is nothing like reading a book in public and cracking up because of the banter between two love interests and getting weird looks from other people haha.
